Support for Foreigners in the Czech Republic – Helping Hand 5 Project

At the beginning of 2014 SIMI launched the project Helping Hand 5 designed to support foreigners in Prague and in the Central Bohemian Region.

The SIMI counsellors will provide individual legal and social counselling, assistance and psychosocial help. We will assist our clients in dealing with the authorities and other public institutions, and in other issues related to their integration into Czech society. The project will also include 14 information seminars focused on raising foreigners' legal awareness in respect to the new Civil Code and other legal novelties.

We will provide counselling mainly for issues related to labour law, healthcare, education and residence in the Czech Republic including the prevention from falling into irregularity. The counselling is free of charge and will be provided in the SIMI Prague office within the office hours, and in other towns in the Central Bohemian Region.

The project will also include 14 information seminars focused on raising foreigners' legal awareness in respect to the new Civil Code and other legal novelties.

During the course of the project, leaflets with contact information and information about the provided services will be distributed.

As part of the project, volunteers will provide tutoring and assistance to clients who will need it.

The project Helping Hand 5 follows a successful project Helping Hand 4 that attracted considerable interest of foreigners.
