INTEGRO project

Support for the integration of foreigners at the local level is the main objective of the project Integration on the Ground - INTEGRO

The project is a collaboration between organizations from the United Kingdom (Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minority - Nice), Germany (Citizens for Europe - CFE ), Austria (Radio Africa), Cyprus ( KISA - Action for Equality, Support, Antiracism ) and Czech Republics (SIMI ), through the exchange of knowledge, information and good practice given for the creation of five integration projects across Europe.

To search for appropriate ways to increase participation of migrants in public life in their localities SIMI invited primarily foreigners, but also a variety of institutions coming into contact with foreigners at national, regional and local levels. To prepare national activities in individual countries the uniform methodology of the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) "Working on integration at local level” will be used.

For this project, we have prepared:

  • Pilot Project, which was tested in practice from December 2014 to May 2015 at selected locations
  • Round tables for representatives of local and national institutions, organizations and migrants - the first meeting was held on April 1 in the AKC in Prague 1
  • Application of 5 intercultural workers - SIMI became a member of the Thematic Network Intercultural mediation
  • Interkultural club
