Common declaration of Czech NGOs: Unemployment will not be reduced by squeezing migrants out of the job market Common declaration of Czech NGOs: Unemployment will not be reduced by squeezing migrants out of the job market 09/05/12

Representatives of twenty-seven civic associations, including members of ENAR Czech Republic, submitted to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) a Declaration against the current restriction of granting work permits to migrants in low-skilled job positions. The submission to representatives of the Ministry occurred on 10 May 2012 during a happening titled "We don´t work against each other, we work together".

The Declaration is a reaction to the Guidelines regulating the issuance and extension of work permits, which were published by the MoLSA in January and March 2012. These Guidelines stipulate that work permits for low-skilled job positions will be granted as of July 2012 only on an exceptional basis and for the maximum period of six months.
