SIMI has been for a long time focusing on the specific needs of migrant women and seeking with them the path to a happy life in the Czech Republic without multiple discrimination.

Regardless of your immigration status, we offer direct legal, social and psychosocial assistance. The basic areas of our support can be found on leaflets in Czech, English a Russian.

What we have accomplished over the past year, you can find in our Annual Report 2015. The main theme for the illustrations was chosen "crossing borders - both internal and external ," as is symbolically illustrated by our graphic designer Martin Malek. Texts are also fortified with quotations from women from former Yugoslavia, who came in the '90s to the Czech Republic and with whom we have worked together in 2015 on the research project Women at the sidelines ( ? ) . SIMI, Faculty of Humanities at the Charles University in Prague and the Institute of Sociology at the University of Bergen cordially invite you to the international conference

Women at the Sidelines (?)

The conference is devoted to the topic of aging migrant women, whose number in the Czech Republic is gradually increasing, but their position is still paid very little attention to.

• The conference will be simultaneously interpreted in the English language.

For several months we offer in SIMI direct legal and social assistance to migrants who are or have been exposed to domestic violence or where the risk is imminent. On specific cases, we cooperate with a partner organization ACORUS.

Dear friends, supporters and colleagues of SIMI,

The past year was challenging for our entire society and for staff and volunteers of SIMI maybe even a little more. We met with hatred and threats for what we do and what we believe in, but we also met with great support from people we would, without the “refugee crisis”, maybe never met. We are grateful for that and we enter the New Year 2016 with new experiences and perhaps greater humility. We wish to all of our society in 2016 more courage, humility, listening and less fear.
