ATTENTION! Important notice concerning residence: The transition period after the COVID-19 measures terminates on July 17, 2020. After that date, all residence procedures will be dealt with according to the Act on Residence of Foreign Nationals. Most importantly, it will no longer be possible to submit your residence application via post, if your presence in person is required.

Research on migrant women working in the Czech households 18/08/15

In 2014, SIMI conducted a quantitative research among migrant women working in other people's homes within a 2-year project called Equal opportunities on the threshold of Czech homes.

Now we bring the English version of the research titled as Situation of migrant women on the Czech market of domestic work.

The first of its kind in the Czech Republic, this research is primarily concerned with working conditions of these migrant women, the tasks these women execute as well as with other matters related to paid domestic work.

SIMI will discuss on Sanctions Directive at the European Parliament SIMI will discuss on Sanctions Directive at the European Parliament 05/12/14

On Tuesday 2 December, we took part at a public event in the European Parliament in Brussels, which focused on implementation of the so called Employers Sanctions Directive thorough the EU countries.

MEPs, representatives of European institutions, policy makers and civil society sought together for answers on questions whether the directive represents an effective tool in fighting irregular migration or what are its impacts when it comes to the protection of rights of undocumented migrant workers.

The event was organised by PICUM and all partner NGOs involved in the project For undocumented migrants´rights in the Central Europe, including SIMI.
