Agreements on work performed outside an employment relationship

DPČ - Agreement to perform work

In practice, this type of agreement is used for both short-term temporary jobs and more stable, long-term work arrangements, including those for an indefinite period. A DPČ is particularly suitable for situations where the workload exceeds 300 hours per year but does not require a full-time employment contract. You can enter into a DPČ with your employer for a maximum of half the average weekly working hours, most commonly up to 20 hours per week. Health and social insurance are not deducted from remuneration under this contract if your monthly pay is below 2,499 CZK. When negotiating pay, the employer must adhere to at least the minimum wage rates and ensure fair remuneration for the employee. For more information, visit this website.

DPP - Agreement to complete a job

Unlike a DPČ or an employment contract, a DPP is a one-time work agreement, typically for a single, one-off task. Under a DPP, you can work up to 300 hours per year with one employer. If your monthly pay exceeds 10,000 CZK, health and social insurance contributions are required. More information, including updates on 2024 taxation changes, is available here.

Note: Any agreement must be made in writing!
